About Us

As a Government Business Enterprise, and an essential service, our focus is on making sure we have the right language professional, in the right place and the right time to enable everyone in our community to thrive.

We have a long and proud history, beginning in Victoria and evolving into a nationwide service.

Our Leadership Team

Throughout our rich history at LanguageLoop, which spans nearly five decades, our journey has evolved with a commitment to facilitating communication. Initially established in 1975 as the Interpreting Services Bureau within Victoria’s Department of the Premier, we embarked on a transformative path. In November 1982, we became an integral part of the Ethnic Affairs Commission, further deepening our engagement in fostering inclusive communication.

In 1999, a significant transformation led us to become VITS, the Victorian Interpreting and Translating Service, operating as a Victorian Government Business Enterprise. Yet, this marked not the conclusion but rather a milestone in our narrative. In 2017, in response to the growing demand for our services nationwide, we proudly adopted a new name, VITS LanguageLoop.

Our commitment to growth and adaptability remains unwavering, and today, we stand at the forefront of language services, contributing to our vision of an Australian society where diversity is embraced, and language is never a barrier to full and equal participation. Reflecting on our journey, we take pride in our history, shaped by dedication and a steadfast mission to Turn Words into Possibilities.
