Last weekend, our team had the privilege of attending the NZSTI (New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters) Conference in the vibrant city of Auckland, New Zealand. The event brought together industry leaders, interpreters, translators, and language professionals across the region, providing excellent collaboration and knowledge-sharing opportunities. Representing LanguageLoop were Emiliano Zucchi, our CEO, Rodney D’Costa, Workforce Manager, and John Antonopoulos, Business Development Manager.

The NZSTI Conference is one of the most significant events for language professionals, and this year’s theme, «Looking in, Reaching out-Growing the Conversation«, was especially relevant to our work at LanguageLoop. Our team was excited to engage with peers and thought leaders, learning from diverse perspectives and exploring how evolving technology, multiculturalism, and changing client needs are shaping the future of our industry.

Insights and Highlights

Emiliano Zucchi, CEO of LanguageLoop, found the conference particularly insightful. He highlighted the discussions on ethical standards and the growing need for seamless language services in the context of social inclusion. He noted, “Conferences like NZSTI remind us of the importance of staying at the forefront of industry trends and technological advancements to continue delivering the best possible service to our clients.”

Rodney D’Costa, our Workforce Manager, focused on engaging with New Zealand interpreters and translators throughout the conference. He emphasised the importance of building strong relationships across the Tasman, particularly as the demand for skilled professionals grows. Rodney also highlighted the significance of working closely with NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) to ensure high standards and consistency in the profession. «Collaborating with New Zealand interpreters and ensuring alignment with NAATI certification not only strengthens our workforce but also guarantees that we continue to provide reliable and trusted services across both countries,» he shared.

Our Business Development Manager, John Antonopoulos, appreciated the opportunity to network with fellow professionals and potential partners. “The conference was a great platform for discussing innovations in service delivery, particularly in video conference interpreting and real-time language support, which are growing areas of focus for us.”

Our team returned from Auckland feeling inspired and full of new ideas. We are eager to implement the insights gained into our services better to meet the needs of our clients and communities.
