LanguageLoop is proud to introduce Australia’s first dedicated Mobile Video Interpreting App: VideoLoop.

Language services has always been about enabling and enhancing communication between peoples and cultures, but there can be times where our abilities can be limited by our location and availability. To solve this problem, the team at LanguageLoop looked for a proactive way to combine our services with technological innovation. After months of development and testing, we are proud to announce the product of our efforts.

Earlier this year, LanguageLoop held an exclusive demonstration before an audience of Australian business heads, government ministers and community leaders, to demonstrate the potential of our VideoLoop app in connecting people instantly across the country.

Users can select an interpreter from more than 2,500 NAATI certified contractors in over 160 languages. Customers also have the ability to set the desired duration and preferred gender of the interpreter where necessary. From there, it’s as easy as click and connect!

The launch of our revolutionary app, and LanguageLoop as a national language services provider, was presided by the Victorian Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Robin Scott.

Speaking about the work undertaken by our organisation, the Minister said “This is a place very dear to me, this is not just a physical location; this is a place where people’s lives will be given agency. This is a place where people who don’t speak or read English will be given the ability to participate fully in society, to have the opportunities many of us take for granted.”

“This is primarily for me about equality and justice; and every member of the community, whoever they may be [and] whatever level of language proficiency they may have [can] access the rights and opportunities which all of us hold dear. And so, the people I see here are at the absolute forefront of making our society more equal, at the absolute forefront of giving everyone a voice.” he said.

CEO of LanguageLoop, Elizabeth Compton, also spoke on behalf of our organisation at the official brand launch in September to recognize this milestone achievement in creating an industry leading mobile interpreting platform.

“We have the opportunity to change lives, to connect people, businesses and non-English speakers together and enable them to live lives without limits. That is a very fulfilling role to play. Moving forward, we’re not only investing in our people and staff, [but we’re also] investing in technology over the coming years, so we can really make sure we are at the forefront. Our mission is to be the leading service provider, and so a really big part of that is in technology.” she said.

This is just the beginning for us, as the app will be launching to the general public very soon. We can’t wait to bring the future of affordable, accessible language services into the hands of Australians.
